Abstract

This dataset contains two foot contours created from digital terrain data. Approximate contours were used in areas where the ground was difficult to see due to tree cover, dense brush, shadows, etc. Contours that ran into buildings and under bridges are coded as hidden. Areas in the imagery that are completely obscured may be void of contours. Contours are not shown on bridges. This data was captured for use in general mapping at a scale of 1:1200. Vertical Datum: NAVD88.

Purpose

This data was developed for the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) under contract P-29-161 and Axis Geospatial project number 9030.

Update 1

Edit Description: This data was developed from April 2009 digital imagery using stereo compilation. The imagery was flown in color and at an altitude necessary to produce a 15 cm pixel resolution dataset. Planimetric and topographic data was collected using photogrammetric techniques and final coordinate values were captured in MD State Plane NAD83 Feet and NAVD88. This data was converted to GIS geodatabase format.
