Description
Abstract
This layer represents the maximum distance an emergency vehicle could travel from each fire station in order to arrive with defined responce times.

Purpose
CR-18-2008 is the resolution that approved the Public Safety Facilities Master Plan with amendments. The following was included to describe fire and emergency response times standards. To determine the geographic area within a five-minute travel time from existing stations and proposed stations, a computer application was developed using the M-NCPPC ArcGIS mapping system. The GIS street centerline layer was used to calculate the distance of the road segments and a speed limit was assigned to each road segment. The response area boundary was created-by computing the distance an emergency vehicle could travel from each fire station.
