Abstract

This dataset contains cross country transmission towers, free standing broadcast towers, and transmission/broadcast towers within Prince George's County. Each feature is attributed with height in feet and type, including lattice, monopole, and collocated.

This data was captured for use in general mapping at a scale of 1:1200.

Purpose

This data was developed for the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) under contract P-29-161 and Axis Geospatial project number 9030.

Process step 1

Process description: This data was developed from April 2009 digital imagery using stereo compilation. The imagery was flown in color and at an altitude necessary to produce a 15 cm pixel resolution dataset. Planimetric and topographic data was collected using photogrammetric techniques and final coordinate values were captured in MD State Plane NAD83 Feet and NAVD88. This data was converted to GIS geodatabase format.
