Planning Analysis Zones (PAZ) for Prince George's County, Maryland

This layer represents the Planning Analysis Zones (PAZ) in Prince George's County, Maryland. Planning Analysis Zones are defined in Prince George's County by the combination of Planning Area (PA) boundaries and COG Analysis Zones (CAZ). This representation is maintained by the Research Section of the Planning Department and corresponds to the geography for which Dwelling Unit, Population and Employment estimates are maintained and forecasts developed. Each zone is uniquely identified by the CAZ and the Planning Area designation. Periodic updates are perfromed to reflect the alteration of Planning Area boundaries. Note that the boundaries associated with COG Analysis Zones are not well documented and are subject to interpretation. This layer was originally screen digitized using 1:12,000 scale has been adjusted to 1:2,400 scale. Most of the boundaries follow the centerlines of roads. Boundaries and attribute values were quality control checked by the Research Section with the assistance of Community Planning Division.
