Wooded areas of Prince George''s County, Maryland
Wooded areas greater than 10,000 square feet in aerial coverage were captured from aerial photography conducted April, 1993. These features were captured as polygons and labeled as ATREES.@ Trees in wooded areas captured averaged at least eight feet in height. The perimeter of a wooded area was delineated by a generalized line along the outside edge most tree trunks. All wooded areas split by roads, where the woodland canopy is noticeably split, will be shown as being split into two separate polygons by an edge-of-road polygon. Single trees having a crown spread less than 10,000 square feet will not be captured. Land use types (i.e., pasture land, agricultural fields, open fields, etc.) outside of the wooded area will not be separately identified and graphically labeled. Other cultural features such as cemeteries, athletic fields, golf courses, fences, landfills, retaining walls, swimming pools, sand and gravel sites, storage tanks, smokestacks, and masonry walls will not be captured or separately identified. This coverage contains the vegetation areas. Features were captured from aerial photography conducted April, 1993. Annotation is defined for two subclasses, TREE and DTREE. Both subclasses are ARC/INFO symbol 2. This layer was created by ASI, Inc.
